When children come to Chatterbox, there is an entire team behind them. Although a child might just see one therapist on a regular basis. Each child is always a part of a larger conversation with everyone on staff. As a team, we are always discussion and researching how to provide the best care for each child that walks in the door.
Hello, my name is Tanya Friend and I am the owner of Chatterbox Speech Therapy. I am a native New Mexican and am proud to say that I attended and completed my degrees at both New Mexico State University and The University of New Mexico. I have been a practicing speech therapist for 10 years and have worked in multiple settings. Helping and serving others has always been a passion of mine. Early on in my career I had a dream to create a place where children and families could receive the care that they needed to not only improve their communication skills but a place where they felt heard, accepted, encouraged, cared for and supported. A place where each and every child is celebrated for who they are as individuals. Part of my vision included creating jobs for New Mexico graduates and being a part of their educational journey. We work with undergraduate and graduate students from New Mexico universities to teach them, inspire them and also learn from them!
At Chatterbox we are a family. We offer care and support to our employees, students, clients, and the community. We bring out the Chatterbox in every individual and hope to touch their hearts the way that they touch ours!
Hi my name is Eleanor Tibbetts and I have worked at Chatterbox for 2 years. I was born and raised in Los Lunas, New Mexico. I attended Eastern New Mexico University where I received my master's degree in communicative disorders. I am enjoying my time working at Chatterbox immensely. I feel privileged to be a part of these children's lives and do what I can to help these wonderful children succeed. Seeing these children grow and progress has made my time here at Chatterbox rewarding.
Hi there - my name is Corey Walker. I have been working with toddlers and school aged children for almost two decades now. During these years I have come to understand what drives children to be excited about learning. Through imagination, hard work, and a pinch of off-the-wall humor, I find that children want to come back and learn. Over the years, it has been great honor to watch children progress and gain confidence.
I also develop apps for speech and language. I was one of the "pioneers" for developing apps in this category and was awarded the highest award given by the New Mexico Speech-Language and Hearing Association for my contribution to the field of speech-langugue pathology.
Hi Im Rob, Im from Lordsburg which is a very small town in southern New Mexico. I've lived all over New Mexico and Colorado, but Albuquerque has become my adopted home. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences and Psychology from UNM in 2014 and am set to graduate from Eastern New Mexico University with my Master's degree in Communication Disorders in May 2018. Having a career that allows me to help both kids and adults aw well as their families all while having fun couldn't be more fulfilling.
Amazing, out-of-this-world, receptionist that keeps things flowing.
