Here at Chatterbox we are committed to helping your child and our community. Because our state is experiencing significant wait lists for speech-language therapy services around the state, we have put a lot of work toward giving families resources that can help you start helping your children right away. Please take a look below at our growing library of resources. In addition, you can see the various types of therapy and programs we offer here in the clinic.

Time to Chat Platform

We have created our Time to Chat platform in order to develop and provide a variety of resources for families that have questions, concerns, or just want to learn more about how they can support their children and nourish their development. The platform includes a website www.timetochat.org that offers a video library, web courses and trainings, the podcast, free downloads, and fun child lead activity and craft videos.

Time to Chat Podcast

The Time to Chat podcasts covers some important topics in the areas of child development and parenting in the modern age. You'll hear information from experts across the span of childhood development. Please listen and give us feedback! We love hearing from those that we serve. If you have topics of questions you would like us to talk about let us know!

Chatterbox Group Sessions

The past few summers, we have offered group therapy sessions for the children who attend our clinic. These group sessions were so successful on so many levels that we decided to do them year-round. The group sessions are led by our most seasoned therapists and focus on speech and language skills as well as awareness, mindfulness, and pragmatic skills. The sessions are hour long and incorporate yoga, literacy activities, pretend play, arts and crafts, music and so much more. We believe that these groups are more beneficial for some children that require a longer session, structure, repetition, behavior management, self-regulation training, and peer interaction. If your child is chosen to participate in these groups we will evaluate your child’s progress at the end of each semester (January and May) to see if your child is eligible to graduate into an individual session or possibly even graduate from speech and language therapy all together.

Individual Sessions

Individual are 30 minutes of direct instruction with 15 minutes set aside at the end of the session for parent and family training/consultation. Parents and families are expected to practice speech sounds or complete language activities when recommended by your therapist in order to make the most improvement with speech and language therapy. Remember we are here to provide instruction and teach strategies but the real work must happen at home! Children selected for individual therapy are selected based on their specific needs.

Parent Trainings

In 2019 we started offering parent trainings to the families that were beginning their therapy services with us. We will continue to provide these trainings for our Chatterbox families. Your child does NOT have to qualify for therapy services in order to request a training.  These  trainings will be available for purchase as a web course on our Time to Chat website for those that would like

more information and guidance but have busy schedules and cannot make it in for an in person training.

In person trainings are $90 for an hour long session with one of our therapists. Families are encouraged to invite anyone who is heavily involved in their child’s life to attend this session.

Web Courses will range from $35-50 and can be purchased and viewed online in the comfort of your own home. In order to be accepted into group or individual sessions, you may be required to enroll in a web course before starting therapy.

Screenings & Consultations

Screening: Free! 20-25 minute session where your child is screened using a screening tool to determine if there is a need for a formal evaluation preceded by therapy services

Consultation: $40 for a 45 minute session where your child is screened using a screening tool to determine the need for a formal evaluation preceded by therapy services AND a consultation about the concerns you have any recommendations for things that parents and caregivers can start doing right away at home to help their child.

How do music and speech-language therapy go together? Oh let us count the ways. This is a unique program that you won't find anywhere else in the country. We've combined our expertise in music and speech-language development to help give children a powerful foundation in skills they need for school readiness. Your child will get a foundation in music while also receiving therapeutic play specific to their needs. Space is limited in this sought after class so if you're interested, contact us immediately.
